I grew up in Vernon and attended Parkview Middle School and Mukwonago High School. Mukwonago was quite different back then, but I am happy to see Mukwonago grow. I attended MHS, it was not nearly as nice as it is now. In fact, it looked like a prison because there were no windows. At MHS I played soccer, basketball, and was on the track team. I attended University of Wisconsin- LaCrosse where I earned a degree in Marketing and Business Administration. I returned to Mukwonago in 2013 with my wife and three children and we wouldn’t change a thing. We have great neighbors, great schools, and live in an amazing community. My current hobbies include golfing, hunting, boating, coaching, watching Wisconsin sports teams and hanging out with family and friends. You may see me around town at the YMCA, boating on Lake Lulu in summer, coaching soccer and volleyball or getting in a round on the golf course.

About Todd Beckner

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I have been married to wife Katie for 18 years. We have 3 daughters Lyla(16), Greta(14) and Hazel(11). We also have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Reggie, who is named after Hall of Famer Reggie White.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

My professional career to this point consisted of various sales roles for small and large companies. In 2021, I decided to pursue a new business entrepreneurship by opening a Farmers Insurance Agency in Mukwonago. In late 2023, I sold my Farmers Agency so I could become an Agent with the House of Insurance in Mukwonago. The House of Insurance is an independent agency, so it allows me to shop for my customers and put their needs first. My goal is to help educate businesses and families about how to protect their important assets by having the proper insurance coverage. I enjoy getting to know people and hopefully I can provide insight and guidance.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Listen more than you speak

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Living in Mukwonago, selling insurance and hopefully empty nesters!

Q: What have you done to make Mukwonago a better place?

I have coached several youth sports teams, donated time and money to local causes and now this project: The Faces of Mukwonago. I am currently the V.P. of the Mukwonago High School Athletic Booster Club. The Booster Club is an organization that raises funds for all the high school athletic teams.

Todd Beckner & Our Community

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community? And what is your favorite thing to order from those restaurants?

And what is your favorite thing to order from those restaurants?*  Fork in the Road for the Pepper Burger and Spinach and Artichoke Dip and David Alan Alan’s for nachos, tasty meats and smoked Old Fashioneds.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

This is difficult to answer. I find most of the people I meet interesting in one way or another. I can’t pick one because there are so many interesting people in this community.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

When I was a kid, I would go strawberry picking at The Elegant Farmer with my family prior to the subdivision being built on some of their land. There is nothing like fresh strawberries! I also enjoyed the tasty treats in the shop. Now I stop by the shop for their fantastic apple pie.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

I would have lunch with Michael Jordan after playing a round of golf with him. MJ was my childhood hero, and I would love to hang out with him and hear his legendary stories. We would hit David Alan Alan’s for a lot of smoked food and tasty beverages.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Mukwonago?

Friday night football games. It reminds me of when I was a student at MHS. I don’t go to all the home football games but I love the buzz around town on game day. Showing up to see the whole community come together to watch the football game, listen to the band and support the cheerleaders is a really special evening.
