I’m an introverted mid 40’s husband and father of three that recently changed careers from corporate world to small business. I grew up and went to college in Ohio and came to Wisconsin after graduation to work for GE Healthcare as a mechanical engineer. I enjoy watching all Wisconsin sports teams (plus Ohio State) and coached youth soccer for many years. I also enjoy video games, home remodeling, and car repair in my available free time.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I’m married and have three kids. My wife Xue is definitely more Mukwonago famous than I am (very active about town). Our daughter Allison is a freshman at UW-Madison studying engineering and our sons Parker and Logan attend Mukwonago High School and Parkview Middle School respectively.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am a mechanical engineer with an MBA that spent 20+ years working at GE Healthcare. I recently changed careers and opened a microbrewery called Amorphic Beer (https://www.amorphicbeer.com/)in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood with a couple of other engineers and former GE colleagues. It has been a crazy journey over the last 8 months of planning, remodeling, brewing, and finally opening this past weekend. In addition the product, I also love the challenges of managing all aspects of your own business.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I love David Alan Alan’s Smokehouse and Fork in the Road. Both are staples in our family dining routines!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
After living in an apartment in New Berlin when we first moved to Wisconsin, we bought our first house in Mukwonago back in 2002 and have been here ever since.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Warren Hansen. He passed away a few years back at the age of 101 but led an amazing life from being a farmer to President of Citizens Banks. A super friendly neighbor with a warm heart and a lot of great stories

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I’ve been fortunate to travel a bit for work and pleasure. Anywhere warm and sunny would be nice now though!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I’ve been a Netflix junkie since the pandemic started. Stranger Things was a great binge watch

Q: What advice would you give to people?
You only get one ride on this planet so make the most of it

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
My wife and I would like to buy a small farm when we retire. I have dreams of owning a horse but have no idea what that really entails!

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Pretty much any country music

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I’m kind of obsessed with Giannis lately. Lunch with him at David Alan Alan’s would be amazing! Not sure what we would talk about, but I really admire his work ethic and accomplishments.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Mukwonago is a great community in general with a lot of friendly people. I really like the Parks and Rec program through the town (my kids played sports there for years). The YMCA is also outstanding with a great facility and awesome class instructors.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Hopefully living in Mukwonago and working at a thriving Amorphic Beer microbrewery in Milwaukee!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Ha, I’m kind of an open book with friends and family. They probably don’t know that I’m not bald by choice (they likely just think I choose to shave my head)… 😉

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Italy

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
We typically take our family vacations in August so that is my favorite. I work solely so I can vacation.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
My wife! I’m definitely earning imaginary brownie points for this answer…

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
The staff at Brooklife Church. They do a great job sharing the Word and challenging us to be what God calls us to be as a church and as individuals.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
The smell of a good hoppy beer is tough to beat! I also grow hops in our garden mostly so I can get the great aromas at harvest time.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Family, laughter, comfort

HOME
