Most people call me Jen or Jenny. I currently work as a Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner and am also Adjunct Faculty at Bryant & Stratton. I went to graduate school at Marquette University and graduated in 2009. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, reading, shooting trap, and wine tastings. I have lived in Mukwonago since I have been 8 years old but did have a 10 year stretch in which I lived in Milwaukee pursuing my education. I love the relationships that I have built in this town.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am currently engaged and have an amazing 3-year-old labradoodle Avery and a black lab named Teal who is just under a year. I have two nephews and a niece that are my world!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have worked in Neurosurgery for nearly 20 years as both an RN and an NP. I love treating cranial patients and working at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee has been my true calling. I absolutely love working with Veterans and I see and hear some crazy things!

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
So many for different reasons! I frequent many in town. I love DAA for brunch, Badger Burger makes a great wrap, Jay's Lanes Pizza, Boneyard has a good selection, Antigua or Sol de Mexico when in the mood for tacos, and Fork in the Road. I also enjoy cocktails at the Legion or Dawn's Trolley Pub.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived here for 8 years but moved away while in college and am so happy to be back!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you've met here in our community?
This is tough! I have such diverse friendships and I believe that most people are interesting!

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would love to go back to Grand Cayman. The island is beautiful and fishing charters there are quite enjoyable!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I don't watch too many movies. Some of my favorite tv shows are Yellowstone, Outlander, The Crown, and the Gordon Ramsey shows are fun to watch!

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Try to see the best in everyone and always help when you can! Also, comparison is the thief of joy!

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I have many more countries to visit on my bucket list!

Q: What is your go to band when you can't decide what to listen to?
My favorite genre is country, I really like Justin Moore. I also listen to audiobooks, talk radio, and podcasts a lot.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I miss the grab bags at Hills Department Store and the old ice cream shops! Print Pack and Ship is a current local business that provides excellent service!

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y'all meet for this lunch?
Maybe Harvey Cushing, one of the first Neurosurgeons or one of the first settlers of Mukwonago. That would be interesting for sure! Probably Fork in the Road as it is an older building!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The community overall. Mukwonago has gotten larger than I would have thought but still has a small town feel to it!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Still at the VA for sure, possibly with another dog!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don't know about you?
I am a pretty open book, so this is difficult. I wanted to become a writer when I was younger, I hate milk, I love calling turkeys with my voice when I see them on the side of the road!

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Grand Cayman and upper Wisconsin!

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
I enjoy boating, hunting, fishing, ice-fishing, so I really like all of the months. March and April get a little boring. I love Christmas and the 4th of July. My favorite day is the day I am currently in because it is a blessing to be on this earth.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
I hate this question working in the medical field! I would have to say tacos. It is really hard to have a bad taco!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
Many. My dogs-I want the world to view me like my dogs do. Healthcare and my patients-I want to do better in this sometimes failing system.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Gunpowder and Christmas candles!

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Safe, dogs, Mukwonago
