Hi! I’m Kris Ganske and appreciate this opportunity! My family and I live in Waunakee and have had businesses in Mukwonago for over 5 years.  I’m married with 3 amazing girls.. I grew up in a small town called Columbus so value the small town atmosphere a ton. I finished college in southwestern Michigan which made me appreciate Wisconsin that much more. I’ve worked in child care, teaching, sales but my biggest blessing professionally had been getting involved in Mukwonago and trying to make a positive impact in this community.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I’ve been married for 9 years to my wife Alicia.  We have 3 beautiful daughters Brielyn(13), Ella(8) and Alaina(6).
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
My background was primarily in child care and I loved teaching.  I went into sales around age 30 with some success but wanted to find a way to positively impact people as much as I could. We opened up Anytime Fitness in Mukwonago 5 years ago and we fell in love with the community:).   We purchased the neighboring tanning salon 2 years ago and recently opened up Boss Pizza and Chicken sports bar at the old Mukwonago Family Restaurant. We’re hoping to expand in the future.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community? Other than Boss, David Alan Alans and Boneyard are my go to’s.  Badger Burger, Fork in the Road and our three Mexican restaurants are great as well. I love what each bring to the table and the fact that they stay involved in the community.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
We’ve been in the community for 5 years.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
So so many to chose from, but if I had to pick one, it would be April Rezka. She’s been running the Chamber of Commerce events and has so much passion for the community that it’s contagious..  I’ve tried to follow her example by volunteering or donating as much as possible. Newbys from Newbys Landscaping and the Stengels from Track 42 entertainment are two amazing families that we’ve been blessed to become close to.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Anywhere in the world I would have to say Australia.  There is so much natural beauty there.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
My all time favorite movie is Gladiator, I could watch that movie all day long.  My favorite TV show without question is “The Office” I’ve watched that series from top to bottom at least 30 times.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Never doubt yourself. If you have a vision, it’s a vision for a reason. Persue that vision until the end. We’ve all got gifts to share with the world, find that gift and bless others to your fullest capability rather then living in regret wondering what if.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I’d love to see a game in every NFL and MLB stadium.
Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I have a wide range of music that fire me up. From Bruce Springsteen, Jay Z , Guns and Roses, Eric Church to Billy Joel.
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I really fell in love with our Wonago Bike Shop. Andy’s passing struck a chord with me because he was so passionate and helpful to this community, which is something I hope to emulate.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Alive today, hands down Michael Jordan.. I want to pick his brain on how he views the world and what’s gotten him to the place he is today. This will sound selfish, but I would take him to my sports bar Boss’ so he can critique what we have and help with any ideas for opportunity.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The love and passion for this community is a beautiful thing to see. My goal is to just add to it to the best of my ability.
Q: What have you done to make Mukwonago a better place?
There are several things that I have done.  I started the Business Trick or Treat in the downtown area.  This tradition thats grown immensely  since inception.  I’ve been able to connect with hundreds of people and enhance their lives by helping them get in better shape as well as gaining confidence.  I was the recipient of Mukwonago’s Unsung Hero award in 2019 for the many events I’ve volunteered in or sponsored.  I believe we’ve brought some more life and energy to this side of Mukwonago including creating a massive Food Truck event in my parking lot.  With our current adventure in Boss Pizza and Chicken I’ve tried getting involved in as many organizations as possible to keep the community more connected
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself with an intense household of teenagers.   I’m just hoping I’m able to help as many people as possible along the way.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
The number one thing people don’t know about me is probably the fact that we have three businesses. I don’t talk much about it day-to-day so it’s always fun to hear the “you’re crazy” response when people ask what I do.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Definitely Coco Cay in the Bahamas. We’ve had a few crusies there and the natural beauty never gets old.
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Favorite month has to be December stacking on my favorite holiday Christmas! Best single day of the calendar is 23 no doubt. My birthday is 1/23 so it always stands out.
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Family/Friends always!
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
I pull motivation from many people but my deceased grandparents are always on my mind when I’m in a time of hardship. Growing up they always kept me grounded and reminded me how blessed life is. They’re best advice was always “As long as we wake up breathing, God is giving you an opportunity for a fresh start”.
Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Grilling and cinnamon.
Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Family, security and happy.
HOME
