My name is Christina Martello, and I was born and raised in Mukwonago. I have a daughter that was born on September 4th this year. I have been teaching a total of 16 years now with students with unique abilities, and my passion is to get them acclimated within the community with equitable and inclusive opportunities. I love anything that has to do with the outdoors including going for long runs / walks, trap shooting, sporting clays, camping, being on the lake, and attending a good beer garden in summer. My husband Josh and I love living in town and being part of the local community.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband Josh and I got married on August 17, 2019, have a daughter named Adeline, and have 3 dogs, Maisy, Lu, and Walter.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I started teaching in Sheboygan in an Autism Unit then in 2013 started teaching in West Allis as an Intellectual Disabilities Teacher. I love to get my students out within the community and provide them with equitable and inclusive learning opportunities.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in the community most of my life except for going to college and teaching in Sheboygan when I first started out.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
From being part of the community my whole life, I have met many new friends who are like family. Everyone who I have met, has marked a special spot in my life and has helped shaped me into the person I am today.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Europe or somewhere tropical

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
One of my favorite movies is Simon Birch. I love all the Law and Orders or a documentary.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Find something that you absolutely love to do and don’t let anyone / anything hold you back. Be truly happy and treat others with a kind heart. You never know what they are going through!

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Travel, go to a concert at Red Rock, go to Burning Man, and create new experiences that my daughter will have lifetime memories of

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I like to listen to a varitey of music but mainly country.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Elegant Farmer… It was my first job in town growing up, and I still love going there to this day.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would say Tina Turner. She has had many struggles in her life, and she never gave up. I would like to meet her at a local restaurant such as Fork in the Road.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite place would have to be being out on the lake. The lake always has good memories whether it’d be being out on the channel, canoeing, or ice fishing.

Q: What have you done to make Mukwonago a better place?
I love being part of local events and helping out whenver I can whether it would be a fundraiser, raising awareness, or volunteering.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself still living in Mukwonago with my family and possibly living on the lake.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I have run 2 marathons in my earlier 20’s. I have a master’s degree and wrote a thesis that my previous bulldog ate.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
I love going to Door County. It is one of the prettiest, simplest, and rustic places I have been. I would also have to say the Bahamas and Carribean Cruises I have been on as well.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Favorite month would be August (birthday month). I love Christmas. 9/4, the birth of my daughter.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
I love going to Piper’s Porch and having wine days with my husband. We love the Lone Buck Wine.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My husband, my daugher, friends, family, my students, and listening to positive podcasters shape me to be a better person everyday.

Pumpkin and Lavendar Pine
