My name is Brenda Schuett. I am originally from Kansas and met my husband Randy while at Kansas State University. I graduated with an elementary teaching degree and when Randy graduated from veterinary school we moved to Waukesha where he had grown up. I retired from teaching when we decided to start a family and Randy retired ?? (But still works occasionally) a few years ago.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
We have 3 children Leslie, Aaron and Renee who all went through the Mukwonago school system. Leslie and Aaron’ families live in the Mukwonago area and their children attend Mukwonago schools. Renee’s family lives in Minnesota.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I taught school at Kettle Moraine for 2 years and then became a stay at home mom. What I loved most was volunteering at the school and working with children in any capacity.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
My favorite restaurant is Sol de Mexico. They have great food and excellent service. I also love the cactus salad at Antigua Real.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
We have lived in the community for 47 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
John McAdams – he greeted everyone with a smile and truly made you feel like he never met a stranger.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I love Hawaii – it is breathtaking, has perfect weather and you can go hiking, swimming, sightseeing or just enjoy the sunshine.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967) and Finding Forrester

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Make good choices!

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To see Andrea Bocelli in concert and I am fulfilling that wish in May.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
The Beatles

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Hill’s Department Store

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Aaron Rodgers – I am an avid football fan plus he seems like an interesting guy and we would go to Sol de Mexico.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite thing is the Mukwonago School district. I think they provide an excellent all around education for our children.

Q: What have you done to make Mukwonago a better place?
When our children were in school, I volunteered in the schools. Randy and I helped Mike Walsh with his ‘game’ feeds for many years and they were a huge hit. When our kids were in high school, I volunteered on Booster club for many years, running the football concession stand and helping with the annual golf outing.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Being with family, Fishing and living in Winneconne and enjoying life!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma and was a basketball cheerleader!

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Alaska, the glaciers are amazing.

July (it’s warm), Christmas, May 18 (wedding day)
