Mukwonago High School

Please highlight your accomplishments while in High School.
I have been very involved throughout my high school career in both clubs/activities as well as sports. I am the current Vice President of HOSA and I also served as the Fundraising Coordinator during my junior year. I competed in the Sports Medicine competition my sophomore and junior years and advanced all the way to Internationals both times. I have also been an active member of Student Government for all four years and I served as the Treasurer for both my junior and senior years. I was in Spanish Club for my first three years of high school and I have been a member of the National Honor Society since junior year. Additionally, I have served as a Class Officer for my junior and senior years. As far as sports, I have earned four varsity letters between Softball and Golf and I was named a captain of the softball team for my senior year. Although I am extensively involved, I have maintained a 3.949 GPA and have been named a scholar-athlete for the last three years of high school.

Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My family is the most important thing in my life. I am the oldest sibling with a younger sister, Grace (15), and a younger brother, James (12). We have all grown up very close and would do anything for each other. I strive to be a role model for them and lead by example. I have also had the privilege of having two loving and supportive parents. My mom (Sarah) and my dad (Jim) have been at every softball game and golf meet cheering me on and never fail to make me smile. I also have three dogs (Chip, Bogey, and Bunker) that I consider a great part of my family. Their wagging tails can make any bad day better. I am incredibly grateful for all the support and love I receive from my family. I would not be the person I am today without them.

What are your plans after graduation?
I plan on studying Biology at UW-Madison in the Fall. After Madison, I will attend medical school with the hope of finally reaching a career in orthopedic surgery.

What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Hickory Sticks at Morningstar Golf Course and Blue Bay

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would travel to Alaska. Hunting has been a tradition in my family for generations. I enjoy the time with my dad and grandpa in the woods and I have always wanted to start learning to hunt larger game such as elk and grizzly bears. Also, the landscape in Alaska is breathtaking and I would like to experience the views in person.

What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Movie: A League of Their Own TV Show: Criminal Minds

If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
My biggest advice to my fellow classmates and anyone in general is to make mistakes. Put yourself out there. No one can learn by doing everything right and our true character is shown through how we recover and learn from it.

If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
Scooby-Doo

If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
I would choose to eat lunch with my godmother, Bekah. She passed away last spring and I would cherish a chance to have one last conversation with her. She inspired me to pursue a career in the medical field and I would love to tell her about all that I have accomplished in pursuit of that goal. We would have lunch at Hickory Sticks at Morningstar Golfers Club because it has always held a special place in my heart and we shared some amazing memories there.

I have spent a large majoirty of my time advertising events to help everyone discover an interest in something Mukwonago has to offer. I have organized many events that bring awareness to various charities, clubs, and activities that Mukwonago has to offer.

In 5-10 years I envision myself finishing medical school, finding a steady job, and hopefully starting a family.

See the northern lights.

What is your go to band / singer when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Anything country.

Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month is June. Between school being out, softball season starting, and the warm weather, the month of June is simply my favorite. My favorite holiday is Christmas simply because it is the only time of year I get to see all of my family and my favorite memories are all centered around Christmas time. My favorite single day out of the year is June 20. This was the day I became a sister and my family, especially my siblings are very important to me.

What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
My best friend’s homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Who inspires you to be better?
My dad. He built our family business from the ground up and it is truly amazing to see everything he has accomplished as well as all of the life lessons he has taught me over the years. Our motto has always been “Be a leader, not a boss” and I strive to live by that motto in everything I do.

Who would you like to give a Shout Out to that contributed to your success?
I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teachers, as well as any other people that have stepped in for me when I needed them most. I am grateful I have a strong support system that never lets me down. I choose to surround myself with positive people that challenge me to be the best version of myself. I owe all of my successes to those that have supported me in everything I do.
