God has saved me by grace through faith in the crucified/risen Saviour. My family and I have lived in the town of Mukwonago for over 11 years now. I am a pastor at Fox River Christian Church. I LOVE going on family walks and really enjoy reading, running, swimming, and cycling. I am so thankful for all I have been given.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My wife (Nicole) and I have been married for 18 years… and we have 4 children (Gwenyth 17, Ethan, 16, Kade 13, Milania 8)!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
My family always gets a good laugh because I’ve held so many different types of jobs throughout my life, but I have served most recently as a high school math teacher (5 years) and a pastor (9 years). What I love most about pastoring are the opportunities I have to help people grow in their faith.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Nicole and I love going on date night to both Fork In The Road and David Alan Alan’s (though I must say, I can always go for a McDonald’s cheeseburger or two)! And our whole family loves treats from E and S Sweets.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
11 years!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
I’d have to say my neighbour Brian is the most interesting person I’ve met here in Mukwonago. He is so smart, super friendly, & it is an absolute joy to see him spending time with his family.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
It is a tie between Israel and Kenya. I look forward to visiting Israel once again… there is just nothing like seeing/experiencing the places of the Bible places and walking in the same places that Jesus did. I also dream of returning to Kenya where so many of my brothers and sisters live so that I might enjoy (and join in) the good things God is doing there!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I recently finished watching season 1 of “The Chosen” (yes, i know I am VERY late to that party) and I also really enjoyed the first 3 seasons of Stranger Things (looking forward to season 4)!

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Jesus became human, died on a roman cross 2000 years ago for our sins, and actually came back alive 3 days later so that we could live too… every person is wise to constantly consider that good news. For those who have yet trusted Jesus for forgiveness and life, the time is now. For those who have already received Jesus, now is the time to follow Him in loving ALL people!

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Running a marathon!

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Hillsong United.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
My wife opened “Feather and Fringe Boutique” on Main Street a few years back. It has since closed, but our family has soooo many good memories of our community from that season of life!

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
John Piper (pastor and author). John has a sharp/creative mind, a passion for helping people, plus a wealth of wisdom and life experience that perhaps he might be willing to share.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The people of Mukwonago are genuine, honest, trustworthy, and hard-working… the one thing I love about Mukwonago is the PEOPLE!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Not sure, honestly… wherever God would have me is exactly where I want to be.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I enjoy eating waaaay too much.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Jerusalem.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
July is my favourite month because I love summer. My favourite holiday is Easter, hands-down (because of how incredibly significant the resurrection of Christ is).

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Answered prayer.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
Jesus.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Funny thing is… i can barely smell.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
safety, smiles, and… rest.
