I was born and raised in Evansville WI. I graduated from Evansville HS in 1973 and started working at the DMV in Madison. I went to UW-Whitewater where I graduated in 1977 with a dual major in Elem Ed 1-8 & Driver Education. I taught 3 & 4th grade and driver education in Hustisford WI for 2 years, went back to UWW where I graduated with a Masters Degree in Occupational Safety in 1981. I started teaching Driver Education in the Fall of 1980 at MHS. At the high school I wore many hats proudly. I was the Advisor of the ski club where I took hundreds of skiers and snowboards around Wisconsin, the Rockies and Canada for 12 years. I started the downhill racing team and spent numerous winters freezing on the ski hill watching teens zip and zoom around the gates. The ski club also sponsored numerous families with toys and food at Christmas time. I was the Advisor of the Junior Class and planned 25 proms. One of my major accomplishments with the Prom was starting the bussing to and from Prom to keep students safe. I was the Senior class advisor and planned over 15 graduations. I started the idea of small groups with advisors to help the graduation ceremony run smoothly. Besides teaching Driver Education, I also taught a class called Developing Personal Responsibility.
Since I retired in 2012, I have been involved in the community by being on the board for Waukesha County Child Fatality Review Team as well as the Vice President of the Waukesha County Highway Traffic Safety Commission. My passion has always been to educate and keep people safe.
