Please highlight your accomplishments while in High School.
I was on the high school girl’s golf team throughout all of my 4 years in high school. I also danced with Accent on Dance up until my senior year. I am a part of many clubs as well. I have been a part of Student Government for all 4 years, in my sophomore year I was the social media manager, in my junior year I was Vice President and this year I am currently president. I have also been a part of Sting Cancer all 4 years and sophomore and junior years I was vice president and this year I am president. I have also been a part of HOSA all 4 years and I’ve made it to the state competition every year, and last year my group made it to the international competition! This year I will be completing the Academy of Medical Professionals which I have been in for the past 3 years. This year I joined DECA for the first time and my partner and I made it to state!
Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have 3 sisters, one older and 2 younger, Grace (19) currently attends UW-Madison and plans on majoring in psychology. Lily (14) attends Park View Middle School and will be going to Mukwonago High School next year. Finally, Maya (11) is a 5th grader at Section Elementary School. My parents, Chris and Susan Carman, are very involved in my sisters and my lives. They always do everything and anything to make sure we all are given every opportunity possible and that we can fulfill our dreams! I am very grateful that I got to grow up with such a loving and close family.
What are your plans after graduation?
Next year I plan to attend UW-Lacrosse with a major in Early Childhood Education (Birth to 3rd grade).
What is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal is pizza with Caesar salad.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would travel to Greece because it is such a beautiful place and I want to learn so much more about the culture.
What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
My favorite movies are Disney Princess movie and Mamma Mia. My favorite TV show is Gilmore Girls.
Who was/is your favorite teacher/coach from any grade? Why?
My favorite teacher would have to be Mrs. Hogan who teaches AP Language and Composition at the high school. Mrs. Hogan was always and still always is there to help with anything I may need (school-wise or life-wise) she always makes me feel heard and appreciated and she is just an amazing person to talk to!
What is your favorite thing to do in Mukwonago?
My favorite thing to do in Mukwonago is to go to a lake. Whether it’s Phantom Lake, Eagle Springs, or Lake Beulah, I love swimming, kayaking, wakeboarding, and tubing in the summers. In the winter I love ice skating and ice fishing on the lakes.
If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
I would say to get involved and stay involved. I feel a lot of students come into high school and join a bunch of clubs and sports but then don’t stay involved all 4 years. In my opinion, high school is way more fun if you stay involved in not just sports but also clubs!
If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
I would choose to have lunch with Taylor Swift because she is my favorite artist ever and it would be my dream come true. I would choose to have lunch at Fork in the Road.
What is your favorite thing about our community?
My favorite thing about our community is how close together everything is and how much of a small town feel it gives off.
What have you done to make Mukwonago a better place?
I feel I have done a lot through Student Government to make Mukwonago a better place. Such as our involvement during homecoming week and organizing many community blood drives.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I hope I will be a kindergarten teacher with a family of my own.
Have you ever had a nickname? What is it and why were you given it?
My nickname is El. I’m not sure why it was given to me but a lot of my family members and friends call me this.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate always pushing through and finishing everything I start. There are definitely a lot of times (especially this year) when I just haven’t wanted to finish the commitments I have started but every time I remind myself how much worse I will feel if I don’t do it.
What is something on your bucket list?
Something on my bucket list is to meet Taylor Swift.
What is your go to band / singer when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Taylor Swift. Always.
Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month is July because I love summer. My favorite holiday is Christmas because I love getting together with my extended family that I don’t see much. I think the single best day on the calendar is probably June 8th because that is when school usually ends.
What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
I would rate summer nights a 10/10.
Who inspires you to be better?
My family inspires me to be better because they all push me to be the best version of myself all day every day.
Who would you like to give a Shout Out to that contributed to your success?
I would like to give a shoutout to my parents because they have always been there for me and supported me no matter what. I would not be where I am in my life if it wasn’t for them and their love for our family.
